slate floor in bathroom
slate floor laid in Master bathroom

Work still carries on whilst beaurocracy grinds away. It was an ideal time to start work on the bathrooms. The slate floor tiles were already on site, as they were delivered when the two bedrooms and corridor down stairs were tiled. The wall tiles were ordered and delivered in 2 loads, pending the second delivery arriving from Italy into our supplier. The shower tiles were Ivory Travertine small mosaic tiles, which are on a sheet, so ideal for laying in the shower areas. The wall tiles were large natural Ivory Travertine matching the shower tiles.

The architect and structural engineer both stated that the planned white pine tongue and groove that was finishing off the ceilings in the downstairs bedrooms and corridor was not permitted in UK, and they recommended that 2 layers of plasterboard are installed instead to meet building regulations.

Great work. I hope the beaurocrats get their stuff sorted soon :-)

Beautiful work! I am surprised that the tongue and groove white pine is against code. Any idea why? I hope we get to see it some day!

Replying to

Hi Greg, it's a fire hazard for any ceiling that has a floor above it. So okay for the masterbedroom, and en-suite, but not in the rooms underneath
